Can Men and Women be Friends?

I think that men and women can be friends but not REAL friends because they are different from each other in many ways. The idea of “Men are from Mars and women are from Venus” is the best sentence explaining this differentness. Men and women are equal in terms of justice but they are different in terms of sex and men have more power and they have tried to be more dominance. When we look at past, we can see that male-female relationships have changed; women and men work, study and socialize together so they can be colleagues, classmates or friends but not real friends. There are some reasons why they cannot be real friends. I think that when a woman meets a man, firstly she wants to be him friend and so she tries to know him as a friend. However, if a man meets a woman, firstly he lays eyes on her physically appearance and he thinks whether she can be his girlfriend or not. If a girl or boy says he/she is just my friend, I do not believe his/her words. One of my friends told me that she had a boyfriend and a close friend who was a boy; she shared her feelings about her boyfriend with him. And one day after the girl broke up her boyfriend, her real, close friend that she thought so said he loved her and asked her for a date. What a pity situation.  I also saw that kind of friendships many times that a boy and girl say they are real friends then they have some kinds of feeling beyond friendship, they would be lovers. Maybe I am so though about men and women cannot be a real friend but there should be a line between a man and woman if the woman does not to want to be broken her heart. Since women are more sensitive emotionally, the relationship affects more deeply them. And also our society and culture affect the relationship between man and woman that if a man and woman are seen by their relatives or friends, they are thought as a lover not a friend. In addition, that friendship may cause some problems like misunderstanding in their families especially for woman. To sum up, I believe that the best way of the real friendship is female to female or male to male since they can understand each other in a better way. They can be friends with opposite sex but only a friend not REAL friend.

I think that this film is one of the examples showing men and women cannot be real friends. I watched and liked it so I advice to watch this film to show the truth behind the friendship between a man and woman.
